Continuous Professional Development - CPD

| Professional development is important |
In today’s fast moving and competitive world not only are professionals expected to be skilled at their area of expertise but to have some involvement with business development. This has become uncomfortable for most people other than the newly-qualified who are introduced to modern day thinking as soon as they start their training.
Who makes good business development professionals?
THOSE WHO:
- Know their area of expertise intimately
- Understand what their clients are trying to achieve
- Want to provide their clients with a creative edge to ensure they are ahead of the opposition
- Listen; listen; listen. That way they learn all that’s needed to be known
- Want to build a strong, two way relationship with their client
- Know that all IT and world wide web technology will never replace important face to face client contact
- Understand that the relationship they have with their client is about creating value for their client, not just paying lip service to it
- Look for opportunities for the company generally and not just for their own area of expertise
- Introduce other professionals for the benefit of clients.
- Do what they say they are going to do, and do it when they say they are going to do it
We are formally registered with the Law society for CPD training. The ICAEW, ICAS, RICS ICE RTPI and RIBA do not have similar formalities but we understand all our training is available for CPD points.
