I attended an event today relating to the property sector. The talk was about the Budget and property taxes. I wasn’t interested, so why did I go?
I WENT TO NETWORK!
I showed a few nervous people how to break the ice.I did this by introducing one person to another …then moving on where approriate.
I met Paul who asked me “Will you are so high profile for a small organisation, how do you do it?”
I explained and gave away lots of free and useful information. He showed interest in knowing more. I have followed him up already with an email – SPEED STUNS- and hope to start doing paid work in due course.
LESSONS TO LEARN
- If you don’t go, you’ll never know
- Always be generous with your advice if you think someone will benefit
- Play ‘host’ even if you’re a guest at an event
HOW TO SAY THANK YOU
The best way in the world to say thank you is by sending a hand-written card. I got one today from a lovely lady. In fact not only is she very nice she represnts a large law firm and I will ask her if I can use her kind words as a testimonial.
IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW GOOD YOU SAY YOU ARE BUT WHEN A THIRD PARTY SAYS IT…YOUR PROSPECTS WILL BELIEVE IT
