The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Networker – The Bad

In every walk of life there are all types of people and when it comes to networkers it’s no different. Let me reflect on the 3 main sorts – last time we looked at The Good.

What ‘bad’ networkers do

  • They don’t plan or prepare before attending events. You and I all plan before a business meeting or an important call so why not plan before giving up 2 to 3 hours of your valuable time. Ask who? What? Where? When? Why? How? They often waste their time attending the wrong type of events, talking to the inappropriate people and spending too long in fruitless conversations. Again planning is the key to getting the best out of the time spent attending events.
  • They talk too much! Introverts hate networking but they do it but can find it a massive strain. But they often make the best networker as they build relationships better because they use the 2: 1 guide i.e. 2 ears and 1 mouth in the correct proportion!

Next time we’ll look at The Ugly…
